What is compliance?
In conducting research of any kind, compliance with federal and institutional guidelines is necessary. There are several types of compliance you must consider, including site authorization, IRB, and/or IACUC. See below more information about each.
Are you a faculty, student, or staff member at GCU who would like to conduct research? If so, there are certain compliance steps that must be met. Below are some useful links to get started. As always, if you have any questions, please contact [email protected].
Site authorization must be obtained if you intend to collect data from or about university populations (students, staff, faculty, or related data). For more information, go to SITE AUTHORIZATION
Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval is required if you intend to conduct research of any kind whether or not you intend to collect data directly from a university population. This step is required to ensure federal guidelines are followed in ethical treatment of human subjects. For more information, go to IRB
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) approval is required if your study involves animal research. For more information, go to IACUC
