David | Kwartowitz | My research has extensively involved the use of medical robotics and medical image guidance for the improvement of surgical outcomes. My Ph.D. work focused on the integration of surgical robotics, specifically the DaVinci robot into image-guided surgery applications, including assessing accuracy, precision, and metrics of success in phantom experiments. More recently my research has included developing image-guidance techniques for the repair of congenital heart defects, and ultrasound based methods for rotator cuff injury, and for intraoperative kidney modelling. |
