ORIGINAL LAB: OVERVIEW

Reflective Practice Lab: 2020 - 2022

The foundation for the Institute for Reflective Practice is the Reflective Practice Lab, which was active from 2020-2022. Foundational scholarship and writing guides were produced in the lab that provide key frameworks for the institute. Note: The Reflective Practice Lab is now closed. If you are interested in reflective practice, take a look at the Institute for Reflective Practice and join one of our initiatives: mentoring, research, or professional development. We would love to have you join us!

Overview of the Reflective Practice Lab

The Reflective Practice Lab was founded in 2020 by Scott W. Greenberger. The purpose of the lab was to utilize and reconstruct John Dewey’s seminal work on reflective thinking to develop ancillary materials to support the Guide for Reflective Practice.

Mission Statement of the Reflective Practice Lab

Reflective practice helps us improve self-awareness and enables us to recognize our knowledge, competencies, and behavior. At the Reflective Practice Lab, we believe that individuals who incorporate reflective practices into their personal and professional lives can begin to reconstruct their understanding and skills in light of new experiences they encounter. Our goal is to demonstrate the benefits of reflective practice and give people the tools to incorporate and experience thinking behavior.
